Managing views with categories
Categories help you organize data in views that contain many documents and move around in these views more quickly. Categories can be sorted alphabetically, numerically, or by date.

To make categories available in a view, the database designer must create a field called "Categories" in the form, set a column to sort on that field, and enable the system action to Categorize documents. You see an error message if you try to use Categorize in a view that is not designed for them.

You can categorize your own documents in any view that has been designed to allow the use of Categorize. To categorize documents created by other users, you need Editor access to the database.
