You can control what a user sees when a database opens, if you have Manager or Designer access to the database. For example, you might always want the preview pane to display when a database opens. You can also control how the database opens on the Web. As a default, the database opens on the Web as it opens in Notes.

1. Open a database.

2. Choose File - Database - Properties.

3. Click the Launch tab.

4. Choose one of the options in the "When opened in the Notes client" list and the "When opened in a browser" list.
