Upgrading the design of your mail folders
If you have folders in your mail database that were created in a previous release of Notes, you can upgrade them to match the new folder design in Lotus Notes 6. You can either upgrade all your folders to one default design, or select folders manually to upgrade. The upgrade command is available only if the design of your mail has been replaced with the design in the MAIL6.NTF template.

Tip Upgrading all your folders at once is faster. If you want to upgrade selected folders manually, set aside a little time for the process.

When you upgrade folders manually, you can base the design of the selected folder(s) on any of these standard folders: Inbox, Alarms, Trash, Rules, or Calendar. Each folder in the list displays the name of the folder it's already based on, so you can decide whether it needs upgrading.

To upgrade your folders

1. Open your mail and choose Actions - Upgrade Folder Design.

2. Do one of the following:
