CALENDAR AND SCHEDULING

Setting alarms automatically
Instead of manually setting an alarm on each individual Calendar entry you create, you can have Notes set alarms automatically for Calendar entries of a particular type(s).

To have Notes set alarms automatically:

1. Open the Calendar.

2. From the menu, choose Actions - Tools - Preferences.

3. Click the Calendar & To Do tab, then the Alarms tab.

4. Select the "Enable the display of alarm notifications" option.

5. Select the Calendar entry type (Appointments/Meetings, Reminders, Events, Anniversaries, To Do) for which you want alarms created automatically by placing a check mark next to it, then enter a time value for the entry type to determine how far in advance you want the alarm to trigger.

6. (Optional) Specify a default sound file in the "Default sound" field to be played along with alarm notices. Click the Play button to hear the selected sound.

7. Click OK.

When you create a new Calendar entry of the type(s) selected in Step 5, Notes automatically configures the entry with an alarm set to go off at the time specified. You can change the alarm settings on any individual Calendar entry after it is created by opening the entry, clicking the Alarm icon Alarm Icon on the right side of the Calendar entry, making changes, then clicking OK to save the changes you make.

Tip You can also use this procedure to change the default alarm advance time for a type of entry, without having Notes automatically set an alarm. To do so, follow the procedure, but don't actually select the entry type in Step 5 by placing a check mark next to it.
