Opening links, buttons, hotspots, and sections
You may receive a document that has a link, button, hotspot, or section in it. All of these features can provide information or link to other documents, views, folders, or databases.

Links

A link connects to other documents, views, folders, or databases, depending on the type of link.

To open a link, you must have access to the database the link leads to, which must be on a Domino server on your network.

Do any of the following to open a link:


Tip If you open a document through a document link and want to open the view that the current open document is in, without closing the document, choose View - Go up to Parent View.

Buttons

A button performs a Notes action. For example, a button can automatically send a mail message or open a database.

Button

To activate a button choose Actions - Edit document, and then click the button.

Hotspots

A hotspot displays text as pop-ups, links to other destinations, performs Notes actions, or follows URL links to Web pages. For example, a hotspot displays pop-up text like this:

Make sure the document is in Read mode by choosing Actions - Edit document.

Sections

A section condenses paragraphs in a document, so the text doesn't take up as much space.
