SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION

Finding text in document titles in a view
You can use the Edit - Find/Replace command to find text within document titles in a view. For example, you could use the command to find any mail in your Inbox that has specified text in the Subject line. This is a quick way to find documents, but it searches only the text that is visible in the view, and not the text contained in the body of a document (for information on searching text in both document titles and document bodies, see Searching a database for documents that contain specified text).

To find text in view titles

1. Open the database to the view you want to search.

2. From the menu, choose Edit - Find/Replace.

3. In the Find field, enter the text you want to find.

4. (Optional) Click "Find options" to refine your search using these options:
OptionSearches for text
Case sensitiveThat is capitalized exactly the way you enter it in the Find field. If you do not select "Case sensitive," Notes finds all occurrences of the text, regardless of capitalization.
Accent sensitiveThat contains the accented characters you enter in the Find field. If you do not select "Accent sensitive," Notes finds all occurrences of the text, regardless of accents.
Whole wordsBy finding matches for the word you enter only if it exists by itself and not as part of another word. For example, if you select "Whole words" and search for log, Notes will not find a match in logical and catalogs.
ForwardFrom your current position in the view toward the bottom.
BackwardFrom your current position in the view toward the top.
Wrap at start/endBy cycling through the view repeatedly. If you do not select "Wrap at start/end," Notes stops searching when it reaches the bottom (forward searches) or top (backward searches) of the view.
